The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decision to cut the official cash rate by 50 basis points, to 3.75 per cent, has raised pressure on the banks to pass on the full rate cut. The RBA move beat the market consensus of a 25 basis point reduction and comes after it had kept the cash rate on hold since December last year. Although it is currently unclear how much banks will cut their rates by, it is likely the Big 4 will be passing on at least some of the reduction. The $1.1 million redevelopment of YMCA Epping’s new Family Health and Fitness Centre has been completed. Centre manager Rod Nadwie-Smith invited residents, particularly families, to visit the centre and inspect the gym, which includes cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines, a stretch zone, personal training and outdoor group fitness. The gym is in Ward St, Epping. Hornsby councillor Michael Hutchence joined the festivities at the centre on Friday afternoon. “YMCA Epping is proud to unveil the new centre which will offer local families a place to get fit and spend quality time together,” Mr Nadwie-Smith said.
